    KHALNAYAK

Khalnayak is a story about the world's end, written and painted during the COVID lockdown. 'Khalnayak' in Hindi refers to a villain, a wrongdoer, who - in this story - is left up to your interpretation.

While we were all inside our homes in the lockdown, and so many creatures took to the streets in our absence, I kept wondering what would happen if we simply let them have their way.  What if they resented us for all that we had done? What if they came yearning for revenge?

If not disease or disaster that brought about our end, what if it were a sense of justice that came for us instead?
